Itinerary
Day 1: ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER TO PHUENTSHOLING (170 KMS / 4 HRS)
On arrival at NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport you will be received by our office executive who will assist you to board your vehicle to Phuentsholling. The drive is through dooars, land of breath taking beauty, sloping tea gardens and spectacular view. Complete immigration formalities at Phuentsholing. Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
Day 2: PHUENTSHOLING-THIMPU (178 KMS / 06 HRS )
After breakfast, check out of your hotel & proceed to Thimphu via sightseeing BBS Tower – Provides a vantage point view of the Thimpu Valley, Memorial Chorten. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 3: THIMPU SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast, proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Thimphu, which includes the following places of interest: Folk Heritage Museum, Royal Textile Academy & Museum, Trashichhodzong – Fortress in Thimphu, Handicrafts Emporium, Kuensel Phodrang – World’s Largest Sitting Buddha Statue, Takin Reserve & Mini Zoo. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 4: THIMPU TO PUNAKHA
After breakfast, proceed toward Punakha. Enroute, halt at Dochu La - A mountain pass leading further into the Punakha Valley. It offers a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of Eastern Himalayan mountain ranges. The view is especially scenic on clear, winter days with snowcapped mountains forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 chortens gracing the mountain pass. Enjoy lunch at newly open restaurant Druk Wangyel Cafe and visit Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lakhang on your way to Punakha.Overnight stay in Punakha.
Day 5: EXCURTION TO PHOBJIKA VALLEY AND GOEMPA MONASTERY
After breakfast, proceed for a visit to the beautiful Phobjika Valley and Goempa Monastery.The Phobjika valley is home to the migration of the Blacked Crane in the months of Winter where the migrant birds a found in large number across the valley floor.Overnight stay in Punakha.
Day 6: PUNAKHA TO PARO & CITY TOUR
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to Paro.After checking into your hotel, you would proceed for a sightseeing tour of Paro which would include the following places Drukgyel Dzong – Ruins of an old fortress in Paro, Kyichu Lakhang – Famous Monastery in Paro, Ta Dzong – National Musuem of Bhutan. Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 7: EXCURSION TO CHELE LA PASS (12,200FT) OR TAKTSANG MONASTERY AND TRANSFER TO PHUENTSHOLING
After breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Chele La pass (12,200ft) - The highest motorable point in Bhutan.(Optional tour) On a clear day one can get a breathtaking view of Mt.Jhomolhari (23,996 ft the second highest peak of Bhutan) and other Himalayan giants. Visit Paro handicraft market during evening time.
Day 8: PARO TO PHUENTSHOLING
After breakfast, check out of your hotel & transfer to Phuentsholing. Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
Day 9: PHUENTSHOLING - NJP RAILWAY STATION / BAGDOGRA AIRPORT (170 KMS / 4 HRS)
After breakfast at hotel transfer to NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey. As you go home let the everlasting memory of the radiant Himalayas and this beautiful serene kingdom linger in your mind and prompt you now and again to revisit this place.
